Commercial Sports Tutor

Full-time: salaries starting £27k, £28k, £29k

  1. 90 students aged 16-19, 6 tutors, 4 classrooms, gym & sports hall
  2. 38 weeks term-time in college, 2 weeks GCSE results, recruiting, enrolment
  3. 35 days holiday + bank holidays:
  4. 25 hours teaching per week in term time, remainder for preparation, marking, pastora.
  5. If desired, additional salary for some teaching of courses outside term-time or at weekends with adults

Closing Date: 12th December 2025, 12 noon.

Role Overview

We are looking to appoint Sports Tutors with experience within the sport, fitness, health and coaching sector. Successful candidates will be found either from a teaching background or with practical experience in the sector and the willingness to qualify as a teacher. We have a proven track record of developing and qualifying individuals through industry recognised qualifications within a learning environment that is supported by our experienced and dedicated team.

This role involves delivery and assessment on a range of qualifications across Sport, Fitness, Health, Coaching and Active Leisure and includes creative development work, teaching delivery and projects in non-term time.

The role requires an organised and driven individual with a passion for students and quality education. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a real enthusiasm to develop learners to the highest level within further education with the benefit of access to thought-leading practitioners for personal career development.

Your qualifications and experience

The following are considered desirable:

  • PGCE, Certificate or Diploma in Education or equivalent
  • Vocational Degree in Sport, Health & Fitness
  • Industry Certificates in Gym / Fitness Instruction
  • Teaching experience within the Further Education Sector
  • Proven track record of delivering outstanding results in education
  • QTS
  • Assessor Qualification
  • Industry experience in Fitness/Coaching or Health
